Natural stone tiles are well recognized for being attractive and timeless pieces that could help increase the value of your property. Natural stone tile is an organic, all-natural material in a variety of different natural stones, like slate, granite, marble, limestone, travertine and sandstone. Natural stone materials are porous and require a sealant or glaze to help fill the pores and make the material resistant to water and stains. The sealant will need to be reapplied periodically. When it comes to everyday maintenance, stay away from acidic or ammonia based cleaners, as it could damage the tile or etch the sealer applied. Natural stone is often a more expensive tile option.
